Ceremonial Grade Matcha

At Soirette, we understand the importance of your tea ritual. We understand that the process of steeping, waiting, smelling and sipping is so very deeply satisfying for our tea aficionados. To honour that, we bring you the very best quality matcha we could find. The meticulous ritual of matcha begins in its cultivation and harvesting: grown in shade, and stored in controlled temperatures, its leaves are ground instead of rolled. The final product is a fine powder that creates a full-bodied drink fit for a Japanese tea ceremony.

Ingredients: organic Matcha first harvest superior grade

Tea Preparation
Quantity: 1 heaping teaspoon per 2-2.5 fluid ounces
Water Temperature: 80 degrees C
Whisk Time: 30-60 seconds

Add 1 heaping teaspoon of matcha into a bowl (if there are any lumps add a very small amount of cold water to the bowl and use whisk to gently make a paste and to remove any lumps). Add 2-2.5 fluid ounces of hot water to the bowl.

Whisk using rapid wrist movements and try not to let the tip of the whisk touch the bottom of the bowl. If you move the whisk through the bowl as if you were writing the letter 'm' you will be whisking the matcha correctly. When there are no large bubbles left in the matcha and the resulting bowl looks thick and frothy with many tiny bubbles then your matcha is ready to drink.
